Bloody Excellent: Meet the New "Spartacus"

I really need to start watching this series.

My Movie Review: 'The Grey'

Liam Neeson’s new film, THE GREY hit theaters tonight at midnight...but I was one of the lucky ones…I got to see an early screening of the film. Lets start off by saying…Liam Neeson is a total bad ass. (LOL) I put this dude up there with Sean Connery, Al Pacino, or even a Robert DeNiro. (LOL) No matter how old they get - - THEY WHOOP ASS!

THE GREY is a simple plot. Liam Neeson plays a dude named, Ottway – his job…to project oil-rig workers of the Alaskan wilderness. Protect them from what you may ask? Creatures. Creatures with sharp teeth. Creatures with sharp teeth that will eat you if given the chance. (LOL) One night – after a long day’s work – Ottway (Neeson) and some of the workers – board a plane to head back home. All of a sudden…the plane CRASHES!! CRASHES IN THE ALASKAN WILDERNESS. YEP…these dudes are totally screwed. BUT…never fear…OTTWAY IS HERE! He pretty much gathers all the dudes, whatever food and weapons they can find – and decides to heads towards civilization.

Sounds pretty simple, right? WRONG!! Some of the dudes are injured, it’s a snow blizzard with -60 degree weather ANNNDDDDD…a pack of rogue wolves are hunting them. Yes…SUCKS TO BE THEM.

I liked THE GREY people. Plenty of action and plenty of ‘OH SH*T’ moments. It’s worth checking out on the big screen - - - OH and one thing. Make sure you STAY till after the credits…there’s one final scene. I made the mistake and didn’t - - - I’m still thinking about seeing it again…yes, for that one part – I need to feel complete. (LOL)

I give THE GREY… 3 ½ out of 5 POPCORNS!

My ‘Netflix’ Movie Review: ‘The Dilemma’

I finally watched THE DILEMMA the other night – directed by Ron Howard starring Vince Vaughn, Kevin James, Jennifer Connelly, and Winona Ryder, Channing Tatum, and Queen Latifah.
Cute little comedy on Netflix – Check out the FULL REVIEW!

My Movie Review: 'Pina'

Hmmm...what can I say about the film PINA. Well, I really can't rag on it - - - it's just not my type of movie. (LOL)

OK...If your a dance fan - this movie's right up your alley...but when I say dance...I don't mean, 'So You Think You Can Dance' or 'America's Best Dance Crew'...I'm talking SERIOUS artsy, theater dance stuff.

Now for my screening KILLED ME!! (LOL) The film stayed slow and flat for me - it never got me excited (in a dance way). Not going to lie - during the film - I had wished I had brought my iPad2...if I had it - I probably would've walked out and sat in the lobby. BUT...the people that came with me to the screening - really loved it (except DJ Penetrate). One girl actually cried during the film. Like I said...the movie just wasn't my style.

PINA hits selected theaters tomorrow - I believe here in'll be showing in the Woodlands, Dunvale Studio 30, and the Sundance theater in downtown. Make sure you check out the trailer below - see if it interests you.

I give PINA... 1 out of 5 POPCORNS (but remember, NOT my kind of flick)

Watch My ‘DVD’ Review: ‘Paranormal Activity 3’

I checked out another movie for you guys and gals. PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3. If your still on the fence about adding this movie to your DVD collection - watch this!

Bikini Shot of the Day: Who's Having a Beach Wardrobe Malfunction?

Whoops! It looks like somebody's two-piece nearly became a one-piece.

While enjoying a little sand and surf in Hawaii yesterday, a certain starlet almost gave her fellow beachgoers a surprise when her bikini top tried to escape her anything-but-beastly bod.

So which gorgeous gal almost had a way-too-memorable vacation picture?

"The Grey" Cast Interviews (video)

"Chris Gore sits down with Liam Neeson and director Joe Carnahan to grill them about their new film and what it was like working with wolves in subzero conditions. They would probably still be searching for my body." - AOTS

THE GREY hits theaters Friday

My ‘Netflix’ Movie Review: ‘Abduction’

John Singleton’s got a new movie people and it’s called ABDUCTION starring Twilight heartthrob, Taylor Lautner.  I actually watched this movie while celebrating my birthday in Las Vegas. Yeah, yeah…I watched a movie in Vegas…it was actually a pizza, movie party. (LOL)

Now lets talk about this movie…ABDUCTION. It wasn’t all that bad. (LOL) I really thought it was going to be unbelievable and cheesy and even though it was PG-13 – it worked for me. (LOL) Taylor Lautner plays this high school dude named, Nathan Harper – one night while he and his SEXY neighbor, played by Lily Collins…are doing a school project – they see this picture on a missing person’s website – thinking it looks pretty close to him – he decides to contact the site…this is where the action begins. All of a sudden – these trained killer guys come to his house – KILL his parents and go after him. As the movie goes on – he finds out that his parents…weren’t REALLY his parents…his fake parents were actually protecting him from ‘something’ bigger…you have to see the movie for the rest of it. (LOL)

ABDUCTION has action and semi-cool violence. (LOL) Is it worth renting – sure why not. I am surprised though - - when this movie hit theaters…it didn’t do too awesome…not like a Twilight film…made me wonder…when people scream for Taylor Lautner at these Twilight premieres - - do they scream for HIM or HIM as Jacob?

- where were these Twilight fans when it came to ABDUCTION? (LOL)

I give ABDUCTION… 3 out of 5 POPCORNS!

My ‘Netflix’ Movie Review: ‘Tucker & Dale vs Evil’

All right movie fans…I’d been waiting for a while on this one – it never came to VOD on my UVerse (what’s up with that?!) soooo…who came to the rescue? Netflix. Yep – Netflix saved the day. AGAIN.

Now – if your into comedies and like blood & guts – TUCKER & DALE VS EVIL is just for you. Do me a favor though – don’t watch the trailer - - - just watch the movie. (the trailer gives away stuff)

They be dancin! Wanna see 'Pina' (Houston Giveaway)

In his exhilarating new film, German master Wim Wenders (Wings of Desire, The Buena Vista Social Club) shoots in 3D to capture the brilliantly inventive dance world of legendary choreographer Pina Bausch. Wenders had conceived with Bausch a dance film like none seen before, one which would take the fullest advantage yet of new 3D technology to put the viewer deep inside Bausch's playful, thrillingly unpredictable pieces. After her untimely death in 2009, Wenders continued with the project, turning it into the most exciting tribute he could imagine. Sensual and visually stunning, PINA uses 3D to remarkable effect, taking the audience into Bausch's work in her imaginative sets (a gliding monorail, a bare stage covered with chairs, a towering man-made waterfall) and powerfully rendering the beauty and sheer physicality of the dances and dancers of her Tanztheater Wuppertal ensemble.

PINA looks pretty weird, cool, and different all wrapped in one. Who's down to see an early HOUSTON screening!?

From internationally celebrated director Zhang Yimou (Ju Dou, Raise the Red Lantern, Hero, House Of Flying Daggers) comes a story of love and war - and a band of outcasts who emerge as unlikely heroes from the shadows of a city's occupation. At once lyrical and visceral, the film enters the apocalyptic world of Nanjing in 1937 only to find a vibrant human story about the invisible people of the city and a series of unexpected relationships that lead to a resonant act of sacrifice.

It begins when the danger in the streets of Nanjing throws together a group of opposites --a flock of shell-shocked school children, a dozen seductive courtesans, and a renegade American (Academy Award winner Christian Bale, The Fighter, The Dark Knight) posing as a priest to save his own skin, or so he thinks - all seeking safety behind a walled cathedral. Trapped by marauding soldiers, over the next few days the prejudices and divides between them will fall away as they unite around a last-ditch plan to protect the children from impending catastrophe.
